2022
My maiden name, Loden, comes from a wool guild in Austria where they weaved the first “performance fabric” and this deep green overcoat is still emulated in the fashion industry today. I have collections of quilts sewn from flour bags, men’s ties, and found fabric that my great grandmother, great aunt and grandmothers created. These diverse influences and experiences results in my artwork exploring identity, feminism, and the fine line between abstraction and representation, geometry and symbolism and ornamentation and structure.
